Prizes: Small Business: JA$400,000 | Micro Business: JA$200,000

Micro & Small Business Pitch Competition:

  •  The Portland MSME - Micro & Small Business Pitch Competition will provide an opportunity for micro & small businesses to get exposure and pitch to win a cash grant of JA$400,000.00 for small business owners and $200,000.00 for micro business owners on September 16, 2026, at the MSME Business Roadshow at the Port Antonio High School, Portland. Participants are allotted 5 minutes to explain and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience for a chance to win the cash prize. The closing date for entries is September 14, 2026, and shortlisted applicants will be informed and invited to the MSME Business Roadshow to make their pitch.

  • Entries will be assessed on the following criteria:

    • • Viability of Business; value proposition, size market.

    • • Scalability; potential locally, regionally & internationally.

    • • Export Readiness; processes/plans in place for export & status.

    • • Market Strategy.

    • • Knowledge of Competitors.

  • Participants may use audiovisuals aid in the execution of the pitches. Followed by a 3 minute question & answer discussion with the judges. Winners will be formally acknowledged by Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment & Commerce and given the opportunity to network with other business and industry leaders.

  • The competition is open to entrepreneurs in Portland. There is, no entry fee, your responses will be held in strict confidence and used only for the purpose of the MSME Business Roadshow - Pitch Competition.
